Subject: Art & Entertainment This Week!
May 7, 2008

Greetings,

What a beautiful weekend to spend outside. The Gamble Rogers Festival  seemed quite comfortable in their new home at the SJC Fairgrounds.  We're excited that  the space serves so well as performance venue.  A volunteer party for past and future GambleFest volunteers  is in the works and they promise to let us know more when  they set a date.

Have an  Art Attack this Saturday at the St. Augustine Amphitheatre. St. Johns County arts students will be displaying and performing their works starting at 3:00p.m.  The show, presented by the SJC Education Foundation, will feature performing and visual art from kindergarten through high school students.  This is a good  opportunity to see the quality of the visual and performing arts in our schools. Check it out!

Aerial Angels,  a street performance group, returned for a couple of shows in the Plaza last weekend.   The "Girls in Tights" as they like to call themselves, put on a great show that was positively received by the large audiences that attended each of their shows.

Audience participation is always part of the fun! It's hard not to smile when you're around the Angels!

At the Chamber Business Expo last week, we asked  if you could identify the man on the top  left-hand  side of this picture.

Ron Sanchez

It proved to be quite the challenge, so we're continuing the contest for one more week.  The first person to correctly identify the standing man, wins a prize.   If you recognize the other two people in the picture,  send their names along as well.    We'll announce the names and winner next week.
